Baseball Recap: Winchester Community Takes a Loss

Winchester Community fell victim to Cowan and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Blackhawks by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Golden Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Jace Allen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Winchester Community's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Cowan, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winchester Community will challenge Centerville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cowan, they will face off against Muncie Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
