Football Game Preview: Pueblo West Cyclones vs. Widefield Gladiators + How To Watch

Pueblo West is a perfect 5-0 against Widefield since November of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cyclones will look to defend their home field against the Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. Pueblo West's defense has only allowed 13.3 points per game this season, so Widefield's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Pueblo West is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Mesa Ridge just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 22-15 to the Grizzlies. While the Cyclones didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Grizzlies 7-0 in the first quarter.

Although Pueblo West took the loss, they still got scores from Chase Harrison and Zach Duran.

Even if they lost, Pueblo West's defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. In that department, Matthew Zeck was the leader with three. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 7.5 sacks on the season. Another thorn in Mesa Ridge's side was Joren Flores, who picked up a sack, made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass.

Meanwhile, Widefield was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 17-12 to Falcon. The Gladiators haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Pueblo West's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Widefield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Pueblo West against Widefield when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 41-0 victory. Do the Cyclones have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gladiators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
