Basketball Recap: Cedar Comes Up Short

Cedar lost against Richfield back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Reds fell 66-55 to the Wildcats. The Reds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Cedar lost, don't look at Ty Rowley. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points. That was a full 36.4% of the Reds' points, marking the fourth time in a row Rowley has earned more than a third of the team's points. Owen Ryan was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Cedar's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Richfield, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Cedar will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Virgin Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Richfield, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Sevier at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
