Softball Game Preview: Redwood Valley Cardinals vs. Montevideo Thunderhawks

The Redwood Valley Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Montevideo Thunderhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Redwood Valley and ten for Montevideo.

Redwood Valley's last matchup with St. James could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Cardinals lost 9-0 to the Saints. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cardinals were not able to get on the board.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Montevideo and B O L D had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Thunderhawks came up short against the Warriors on Tuesday, falling 14-3.

Redwood Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Montevideo, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Everything went Redwood Valley's way against Montevideo when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Redwood Valley made off with a 13-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
