Baseball Game Preview: Indianola Academy Colonels vs. North Delta Green Wave

Indianola Academy is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the North Delta Green Wave at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Indianola Academy beats North Delta with 17 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Everything went Indianola Academy's way against O'Bannon on Tuesday as Indianola Academy made off with a 17-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colonels.

Meanwhile, North Delta entered their tilt with Grenada on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 5-2.

Landon Hoshell was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Kolby Baker was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

North Delta's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Indianola Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Indianola Academy might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from North Delta in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can Indianola Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
