Alexandria proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Hutchinson Tigers 3-1. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 4-1 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Alexandria has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hutchinson, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Alexandria will square off against Willmar at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alexandria is facing Willmar at the right time seeing as Willmar is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hutchinson, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-6 victory against Southwest Christian on the 10th.
