Soccer Game Preview: Saint James vs. Trinity Presbyterian

The Saint James Trojans will square off against the Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Saint James sitting on six straight victories and Trinity Presbyterian on eight.

Saint James' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Tallassee. It was an even better day for Grant Phillips as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Trinity Presbyterian made sure to put some goals up on the board against LAMP on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the Golden Tigers. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Trinity Presbyterian's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 35th, while LAMP are ranked 124th).

Trinity Presbyterian pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those five matches. As for Saint James, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Saint James skirted past Trinity Presbyterian 2-1 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
