Great Falls was handed a 29-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past the Buford Yellow Jackets 36-34. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

A big part of Great Falls' win came down to the chemistry between Zaquan Talford and his top target Kendrick Patterson. Talford rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries while Patterson rushed for 131 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries.

Great Falls was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 347 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buford only rushed for 94.

Buford's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Noah Crump, who threw for 157 yards and two TDs, and Cole Carnes, who picked up 64 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Great Falls' record is now 2-3. As for Buford, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Great Falls will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lee Central at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Red Devils' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Buford, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-0 defeat against North Central on the 26th.
