Softball Recap: Pewaukee Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Pewaukee hadn't done well against New Berlin Eisenhower recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Pirates came out on top against the Lions by a score of 6-3. While the Pirates didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Samantha Brewster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hailey Hutchens was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Estella Levas was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Pewaukee's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for New Berlin Eisenhower, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pewaukee will face off against Greendale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Berlin Eisenhower, they will take on Wisconsin Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
