Basketball Recap: Zak Leija's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Teague over Scurry-Rosser

If Teague was feeling good fresh off their 71-39 takedown of A Plus Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Teague Lions took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Scurry-Rosser Wildcats on Saturday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-22 last Thursday.

Teague lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zak Leija, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Carter Stacks, who had six points.

Teague's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Scurry-Rosser, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Teague will take on Buffalo in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buffalo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Scurry-Rosser, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Scurry-Rosser Wildcats take on the Kerens Bobcats at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
