Baseball Game Preview: Hackett Hornets vs. Subiaco Academy Trojans

The Hackett Hornets will venture away from home to challenge the Subiaco Academy Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hackett will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Monday, Hackett was able to grind out a solid victory over Atkins, taking the game 5-2.

Meanwhile, Subiaco Academy lost 26-3 to Paris on Monday. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Jacob Grist was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Owen Pennington, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Hackett's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Subiaco Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Hackett couldn't quite get it done against Subiaco Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can Hackett avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
