Softball Recap: Saluda Takes Down Ninety Six in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Saluda walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Ninety Six Wildcats a 5-0 shutout on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Saluda's win was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Ninety Six, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-7.

Looking ahead, Saluda will take on East Clarendon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. Ninety Six does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
