Basketball Recap: MacArthur Comes Up Short

After soaring to 55 points the game before, MacArthur was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They came up short against the Spring Lions, falling 42-20. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-15 back in December of 2024.

Spring found their leader in sophomore Gabby Salazar, who posted 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Miracle Quarles, who put up four points in addition to eight boards and five steals.

MacArthur has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-22 record this season. As for Spring, the win got them back to even at 16-16.

MacArthur will square off against Westfield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Spring, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Spring Lions duke it out with the Dekaney Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Spring will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
