Recap: Henryetta Knights vs. Idabel Warriors
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Henryetta Knights can now relate to. They lost to Idabel on the road by a decisive 28-14 margin on Friday. Henryetta's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Henryetta's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was NICK HUDSON, who rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Nail, who picked up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Idabel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matrail Lopez, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 62 receiving yards. Lopez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Waylon Phillips also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Idabel's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Henryetta's QB won't forget Antwain Bagsby anytime soon given Bagsby sacked him twice.
Henryetta's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Idabel, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-0 record.
Henryetta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Idabel will face off against Kansas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Kansas is ranked 51st, while Idabel is ranked 40th).
