Basketball Game Preview: Gulf Coast Sharks vs. Naples Golden Eagles

Gulf Coast hasn't had much luck against Naples recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Gulf Coast Sharks will square off against the Naples Golden Eagles. One thing working in Gulf Coast's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.

Gulf Coast is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 74-72 win over Dunbar.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Naples, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They breezed by Golden Gate to the tune of 70-33 on Wednesday. That 37 point margin sets a new team best for the Golden Eagles this season.

Gulf Coast has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Naples, they moved to 12-13 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Gulf Coast came up short against Naples in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 68-64. Can Gulf Coast avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
