Football Game Preview: St. Thomas Academy Cadets vs. Chanhassen Storm

The St. Thomas Academy Cadets will take on the Chanhassen Storm on Thursday. St. Thomas Academy will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

St. Thomas Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Mayo by a score of 21-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cadets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Spartans are ranked 83rd).

Dominic Baez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 126 yards and a pair of TDs. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 126 rushing yards.

St. Thomas Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Grant Young and Manny Sims.

Meanwhile, Chanhassen didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Cretin-Derham Hall on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 23-19 win.

St. Thomas Academy's record is now 11-0. As for Chanhassen, their record now sits at 10-1.

St. Thomas Academy strolled past Chanhassen in their previous matchup back in September by a score of 28-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cadets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
