Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Cotter

Cotter waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Viola Longhorns. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Myah McNutt's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gracyn Jackson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Tucker, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Cotter's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Viola, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Looking ahead, Cotter will venture away from home to take on Concord at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Viola, they will host Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
