Basketball Game Preview: Wilson Mustangs vs. Lorenzo Hornets

Wilson is 0-10 against Lorenzo since February of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wilson Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Lorenzo Hornets at 5:30 p.m.

Wilson is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 27th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Petersburg and fell 71-6. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1587th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 790th).

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Lorenzo over Southland in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Lorenzo blew Southland out of the water with a 50-21 final score. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Lorenzo and bumps their season record up to 12-8. As for Wilson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.

Wilson was taken down by Lorenzo 72-7 when the teams last played on January 3rd. Can Wilson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
