Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Rowann Law and Hope Gilmore Lead Glenwood to Victory

Glenwood lost to Normal West back in December of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Glenwood Titans walked away with a 44-37 victory over the Normal West Wildcats. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Wildcats are ranked 239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Glenwood to victory were Hope Gilmore and Rowann Law. Gilmore posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals, while Law dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Law a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Ava Bobb, who scored eight points and eight rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Glenwood and bumps their season record up to 11-6. As for Normal West, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Glenwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-40 victory against Civic Memorial on the 15th. Normal West has also already played their next game, a 61-22 win against Peoria on the 16th.
