Softball Recap: Staunton Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

22 must be Staunton's lucky number: they beat Charlottesville with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Storm beat the Black Knights by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 22-12. The Storm might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by ten runs or more this season.

Staunton pushed their record up to 3-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 24.3 runs over those games. As for Charlottesville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Staunton will head out to challenge Buffalo Gap at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Charlottesville, they will venture away from home to face off against Albemarle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.33 runs per game on average), something the Black Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
