Basketball Game Preview: Leon Lions vs. Taylor County Bulldogs

Having just played yesterday, the Leon Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Taylor County Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Leon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.

Leon is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Mosley just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Dolphins by a score of 56-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered since December 10, 2024.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was DeKendrick Williams, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Pensel, who went 5 of 11 en route to 17 points.

Taylor County played against Wakulla and won via forfeit.

Taylor County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Leon, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-6.

Everything came up roses for Leon against Taylor County in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 57-24 victory. In that contest, Leon amassed a halftime lead of 49-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
