Soccer Recap: Nacogdoches Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Nacogdoches kept a clean sheet against Tyler on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Tyler Lions by a score of 2-0. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Lions are ranked 399th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anthony Rodriguez and Victor Martinez scored both of Nacogdoches' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Nacogdoches' win bumped their record up to 6-2-3. As for Tyler, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Hallsville the next time they take the pitch. Nacogdoches will head out to face Hallsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Tyler will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
