Recap: Murrah Mustangs vs. Brookhaven Panthers
The Murrah Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Brookhaven by a score of 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Brookhaven got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylen Haliburton out in front who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Haliburton has scored at least 25% of Brookhaven's points. Jamarius Malone was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Murrah's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-13. As for Brookhaven, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Murrah will head out on the road to face off against Madison Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Madison Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 327 points over their last five contests. As for Brookhaven, they will look to defend their home court on January 5, 2024 against Provine at 7:00 p.m.
