Basketball Recap: Wes-Del Takes a Loss

Wes-Del was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Tri-Central Trojans and fell 58-9. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 53-13 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2022.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bella Kehoe, who posted five points.

It was another big night for Layla Keith, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 27 points and three steals for Tri-Central. Keith continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Creason, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Wes-Del's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Tri-Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Wes-Del wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-28 loss against Blue River Valley on the 7th. Tri-Central has also already played their next game, a 52-34 defeat against Clinton Prairie on the 10th.
