Basketball Game Preview: Mora Rangers/Rangerettes vs. Pecos Panthers

Mora hasn't had much luck against Pecos recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mora Rangers/Rangerettes will square off against the Pecos Panthers at 11:30 a.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mora is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 48-47 photo finish over Mesilla Valley Christian School.

Meanwhile, Pecos had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 71-58 win over the Owls.

Mora has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games. Pecos' victory bumped their record up to 20-10.

Mora couldn't quite finish off Pecos in their previous meeting back in January and fell 50-48. Can Mora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
