Basketball Recap: Shipley Drops Season-High Score on Landon

Shipley scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Landon Bears by a score of 62-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Shipley has suffered since December 13, 2024.

Shipley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jack Naegle, who shot 63% from the field en route to 16 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Stevie Maniatis, who posted 12 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Shipley and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Landon, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Shipley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Springfield Township at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Shipley will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Landon, they will challenge MacArthur at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
