Preview: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Skyline Falcons
Mountain View is 4-0 against Skyline since March of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Mountain View Mountain Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Skyline Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Mountain View suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 74-25 defeat at the hands of Riverdale Ridge. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mountain View has scored all season.
Brie Matchett put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that she grabbed two or more steals.
Meanwhile, Skyline's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Frederick 58-20. Skyline has not had much luck with Frederick recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
This is the second loss in a row for Mountain View and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Skyline, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-8.
Everything came up roses for Mountain View against Skyline in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 67-28 win. With Mountain View ahead 46-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.
