Football Game Preview: Hinkley Thunder vs. Standley Lake Gators + How To Watch

Hinkley hasn't had much luck against Standley Lake recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Thunder will head out on the road to square off against the Gators at 6:00 p.m. Hinkley has given up an average of 67.6 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hinkley's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Lutheran on Thursday. They took a blow against the Lions, falling 72-0. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while the Lions are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, Standley Lake got themselves on the board against Littleton on Friday, but Littleton never followed suit. They blew past the Lions 56-0. The high-scoring effort was just what the Gators needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jaden Epps and Achillez Zepeda. Epps rushed for 139 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries while Zepeda rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Evan Seiffert also helped with two TDs in total.

Standley Lake was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 323 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Standley Lake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Epps, Seiffert, and Giovanni Aiello picked up one apiece. Seiffert got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Hinkley's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Standley Lake, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Hinkley was taken down by Standley Lake 55-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Thunder, Liam Graham (who rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
