Softball Recap: Northeastern Comes Up Short

Northeastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-6 to the Pasquotank County Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 last Thursday.

Northeastern's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Pasquotank County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeastern will face off against Hertford County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hertford County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.78 runs per game on average), something Northeastern will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Pasquotank County, they will welcome Holmes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pasquotank County's pitchers better be ready for this one: Holmes has averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
