Recap: Crestwood Knights vs. Academic Magnet Raptors
The Crestwood Knights entered their tilt with the Academic Magnet Raptors with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Crestwood took down Academic Magnet 57-39 on Saturday. Crestwood pushed the score to 47-27 by the end of the third, a deficit Academic Magnet cut but never quite recovered from.
Crestwood was led to victory by Javiah Martin and Saniya Williams. Martin scored 16 points along with four steals, while Williams scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Martin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. London Vaughn was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Academic Magnet's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evie Walldorf, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Walldorf hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Abby Brauchle, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Crestwood now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Academic Magnet, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Crestwood will head out on the road to face off against Camden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Camden is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Academic Magnet, they will be playing at home against Lake Marion at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Marion is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
