Basketball Recap: Neches Comes Up Short

After flying high against Penelope last Friday, Neches came back down to earth. The Neches Tigers were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 40-39 to the Cross Roads Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 52-46 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Neches now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Cross Roads, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Neches will be playing at home against Campbell at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cross Roads, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cross Roads Bobcats face off against the Cayuga Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
