Soccer Game Preview: Pelham vs. Calera

The Pelham Panthers will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Calera Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Pelham's offense. They fell 2-0 to Gulf Shores on Saturday. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Calera gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Hillcrest a 5-0 shutout. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pelham fell to 2-1. As for Calera, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Pelham came up short against Calera in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Pelham avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
