Basketball Recap: Evan Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Springs Valley over Austin

Springs Valley was the 101-98 winner over Austin when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Springs Valley Blackhawks fell just short of the Austin Eagles by a score of 34-32 on Saturday. The game marked the Blackhawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Springs Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Evan Brown, who posted four points and nine rebounds.

Springs Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Austin, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.

Springs Valley will host Paoli at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Paoli will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Springs Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Austin, they are taking a road trip to square off against New Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: New Washington has lost three straight at home , while Austin has lost three on the road.
