Central Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Vista del Lago a 10-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Central Catholic got a great performance from Stephanie Garcia as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Garcia has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Carsyn Lomeli and Samantha Nichols did most of the damage at the plate: Lomeli went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Nichols went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Lomeli has posted since back in March. Taryn Calderon was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Central Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .435 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Manteca hadn't done well against Oakdale recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Buffaloes put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 8-1 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Manteca let Bella Cooper and Sienna Owen run wild. Cooper went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Owen went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Alesia Harris, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Central Catholic pushed their record up to 25-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Manteca, their victory bumped their record up to 21-8.
