Basketball Recap: Hillside Hornets vs. Riverside-Durham Pirates
Make it eight blowout wins for the Hillside Hornets this season. They claimed a resounding 59-11 win over Riverside-Durham at home. With Hillside ahead 32-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Leading Hillside to victory were Kayden Sims and Samiyah Barker. Sims scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Barker scored 16 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sims has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alima Shah, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Hillside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Riverside-Durham, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
Hillside will play host again and welcome the Knights, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside-Durham is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Chapel Hill is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
