Basketball Recap: Aaron Reeves' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Oak Grove over Central

After a string of three wins, Oak Grove's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Central Blue Eagles by a score of 52-50. The Panthers lost against the Blue Eagles in their previous head to head back in March of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 81-31 score last time.

Oak Grove's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Reeves, who went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Reeves a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Ford, who posted six points along with ten rebounds and four steals.

Oak Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Oak Grove has already played their next matchup, a 59-54 victory against Pleasant Hill on the 15th. Central has also already played their next contest (against East), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
