Softball Recap: Hilltop Cadets vs. Pettisville Blackbirds

Hilltop put the finishing touches on their 16th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They beat the Pettisville Blackbirds by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-0. The victory was familiar territory for Hilltop who now have ten in a row.

Kelsy Connolly was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Connolly has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive pitching appearances. Connolly was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shealyn Brown, who went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophia Crossgrove, who went 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI.
