After starting their season with two straight games on the road, Sutton is finally coming home. They will look to take advantage of their home-field as they take on the Southern Valley Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Sutton, who comes in off a win.

Sutton's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed by Heartland on the road to the tune of 64-0.

Harrison Herndon had a dynamite game for Sutton, rushing for 122 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also picking up 34 receiving yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Pollet, who threw for 95 yards and three touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes.

Sutton's defense stepped up as well, laying out Luis Alvarez. three times. In that department, Griffen Bergen was the leader with two sacks. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks and making three total tackles. Another thorn in Heartland's side was Jacob Huxoll, who made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended two passes.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Sutton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 408 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 169 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Southern Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 44-10 loss at the hands of Arcadia/Loup City.

Sutton's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Southern Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
