Soccer Game Preview: Centennial vs. Garces Memorial

For the first time this season, Centennial will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to challenge the Garces Memorial Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Centennial fell victim to Sanger West and their airtight defense on Saturday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 2-0 loss to the Hornets. That's two games in a row now that Centennial have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Garces Memorial didn't have quite enough to beat Clovis West on Saturday and fell 2-1.

The Rams' goal came courtesy of Trent Antongiovanni, who's now up to two this season.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-3. As for Garces Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2-2.

Centennial beat Garces Memorial by a goal in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, winning 1-0. Will the Golden Hawks repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
