Football Recap: Mountain Empire Skates Past Nuview Bridge with Ease

Mountain Empire got themselves on the board against Nuview Bridge on Friday, but Nuview Bridge never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 37-0 win over the Knights. The Redhawks pushed the score to 25-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights had little chance of recovering from.

Mountain Empire's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elisha Lashone Robinson, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Those 145 rushing yards gave Lashone Robinson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Ross, who threw for 109 yards and one TD while completing 85.7% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mountain Empire was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 297 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Mountain Empire didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Michael Noble. Another thorn in Nuview Bridge's side was Jason Landman, who picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles.

Mountain Empire's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Nuview Bridge, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Mountain Empire has already played their next game, a 27-19 defeat against San Ysidro on the 12th. As for Nuview Bridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 59-19 loss against Hamilton on the 11th.
