Football Recap: Springville Takes a Loss

Springville had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it eight. The matchup between the Tigers and the Jacksonville Golden Eagles didn't end well, with the Tigers falling 49-32. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Jacksonville, they now have a winning record of 4-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

A big part of Jacksonville's victory came down to the chemistry between Kamouri Harmon and his top target Kelvin Hughley. Harmon threw for 154 yards and one TD while completing 83.3% of his passes while Hughley picked up 47 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Springville will face off against St. Clair County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Saints will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jacksonville, they will venture away from home to square off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles will be up against the Golden Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
