Football Recap: Colcord Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Colcord was the 28-6 winner over Keys when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hornets came up short against the Cougars on Friday, falling 28-7. The contest marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

It was another big night for Treveon Guthrie, who rushed for 152 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries for Keys. Guthrie didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss). Another player making a difference was Ryder Davis, who rushed for 117 yards on only nine carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Colcord and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Keys, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Colcord will take on Commerce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Keys, they will challenge Salina at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed 12.4 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
