Recap: Alta Hawks vs. Olympus Titans
The Alta Hawks waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 60-48 win over Olympus. 60 seems to be a good number for Alta as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
It was another big night for Leafa Niumeitolu, who scored 16 points along with four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aolele Liavaa, who scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Olympus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Keily Trabanino, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Joss Baker, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Olympus struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Alta racked up ten assists.
Alta's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Olympus, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Alta will head out on the road to square off against Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Brighton is ranked 29th, while Alta is ranked 24th). As for Olympus, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against East at 7:00 p.m.
