Football Recap: Morristown Yellow Jackets vs. Tri-State Crusaders King's Crusaders
Morristown faced Tri-State Crusaders in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets were beaten by the King's Crusaders 62-0. The Yellow Jackets just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Rylan Kolb and Kylen Zimmerman. Kolb rushed for 100 yards and three scores on only six carries while Zimmerman threw for 114 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. Zimmerman didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 0.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made three total tackles in addition to snagging two interceptions.
Morristown's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Tri-State Crusaders, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Morristown will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dugger Union at 12:00 p.m. on the 18th.
