Volleyball Recap: Edna Comes Up Short

Edna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cypress Christian Warriors. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Edna sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-13, 28-30, 25-16.

Cypress Christian had a senior duo take command as RAQUEL HERNANDEZ-RODRIGUEZ had 15 digs and two assists and LILAH JOHNSON had three digs and two aces. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for HERNANDEZ-RODRIGUEZ.

Edna's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cypress Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Edna has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against El Campo on the 15th. As for Cypress Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Lexington on the 15th.
