Basketball Recap: Elsinore Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Elsinore can now relate to. They took a 76-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grant Lancers on Tuesday. The Tigers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Despite the defeat, Elsinore had strong showings from Brandon Boatman, who shot 44% from the field to rack up 21 points and six boards, and Kamrynn Nathan, who went 9-for-18 en route to 26 points and three steals. The contest was Nathan's fourth in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Ledgend Johnson, who posted four points and seven rebounds.

RONALD MERRILL continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Grant, going 10-for-22 on his way to 24 points and three steals. That's the most steals MERRILL has posted since back in January. Isreal Mullings was another key player, shooting 42% from the field to rack up 14 points and six boards.

Elsinore's loss dropped their record down to 21-12. As for Grant, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-14 record this season.

Elsinore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grant, they will welcome Pacifica at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grant is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.6 points per game this season.
