Preview: St. Mary's Rams vs. Lincoln Trojans

St. Mary's is 8-0 against Lincoln since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The St. Mary's Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Trojans at 7:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as St. Mary's comes in on five and Lincoln on three.

Last Friday, St. Mary's never let their opponents score. They claimed a resounding 56-0 win over Tokay at home. The result was nothing new for St. Mary's, who have now won five contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

St. Mary's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Asante Carter led the charge by rushing for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Another big playmaker for St. Mary's was Kenneth Moore iii, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Lincoln took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 57-6 win over West. Lincoln pushed the score to 57-0 by the end of the third, a deficit West cut but never quite recovered from.

St. Mary's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.8 points per game. As for Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Everything came up roses for St. Mary's against Lincoln in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 42-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Mary's since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
