Mundelein and Lake Zurich are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will welcome the Bears at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mundelein is returning to their home field after beating Warren Township on theirs, despite the fact Warren Township has dominated at home this season. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 10-3 win on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Sophia Zepeda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Claire Connelly and Emily Courtney did most of the damage at the plate: Connelly went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Courtney went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Courtney has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kieley Tomas, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Lake Zurich got the win against Zion-Benton on Monday by a conclusive 12-3. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Zee-Bees recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Izzy Vodicka was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and three RBI. Those triples were her first of the season. Kelly Selzer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
Lake Zurich kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Lake Zurich's win bumped their record up to 12-14-1. As for Mundelein, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.
