Softball Recap: Marshall Eagles vs. Rosemead Panthers
Marshall extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-14 in the process. They lost 20-3 to the Rosemead Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-3 on April 2nd.
Eunice Velazquez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Ianthe Carrusquillo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
As for Rosemead, they now have a winning record of 7-6. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
On Rosemead's side, they let Jenavee HOLGUIN and Jaelene Torres run wild. HOLGUIN got on base in four of her seven plate appearances with four runs and one triple, while Torres went 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. Those three runs gave Torres a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Valeria Na?ez, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with two runs.
Marshall has already played their next game, a 28-15 loss against Palmdale on the 25th. As for Rosemead, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against Arroyo on the 28th.
