Soccer Game Preview: Glen Allen vs. Hermitage

The Glen Allen Jaguars will venture away from home to face off against the Hermitage Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Glen Allen's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Glen Allen duked it out with J.R. Tucker on Tuesday. The Jaguars lost 3-0 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, Glen Allen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while J.R. Tucker are ranked 59th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hermitage). They blew past Henrico 5-0 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for Hermitage in their matchups with Henrico: they've now won nine in a row.

Glen Allen's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7-1. As for Hermitage, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Glen Allen skirted past Hermitage 2-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
